People Projects + Leadership
PPL: E-unit
with Xitlali Cabadas

Be part of the team that designs, plans, and manages events that tie the NEST to the wider community. Learn how to think critically, solve problems, and see a project through from beginning to end alongside a supportive team. You can transfer those skills to become a project manager, event coordinator, or a promoter. Past events coordinated by this team include holiday parties, game days, fashion shows, and movie screenings. In light of the pandemic, we will get the opportunity to think creatively about how people can connect virtually or at a physical distance. What will our next event be? It’s up to you!

Learn leadership, project management, logistics, and marketing skills while you work on a project that makes a difference in the community! This group started to address the needs that arose from COVID-19, but it will continue to tackle the needs in our community even after the pandemic is over. Past projects include: virtual learning for elementary school students at Ohlone Elementary School, a one-stop website for community resources- especially for the COVID crisis, managing social media to market a fundraiser to help undocumented families, bring awareness to farmworkers as essential workers and advocate for farmworker rights. What do you think we should work on next?
*Each week volunteers will work 1-2 hours on their project outside of Wednesday's meeting time.
